More Fun

My brother-in-law's parents have a pool that they let us enjoy while we visited.
He can play basketball on land and water! :)

Celebrating!

My niece turned ONE! :)

We celebrated a little bit early and spent the weekend with the family in Cleveland.  We ate our dinner outside on the porch and finished it all up before the rain came!

Fun Friday

I couldn't get Nathan to pose for a pic by himself, so we did one together.
 (Do you see the horsie?!)
I finally got him to pose for a shot on his own!  Do you see his interesting outfit?!  He had to wear his swimsuit under his clothes today as they were doing a water play time this morning.  Isn't it so cute?! :)  Then he had to try and brush his hair before we left.

Hope you've had a fun Friday!

Yum!

We're sharing with the daycare teachers today.  Nathan sampled the banana bread for breakfast and thought it was tasty.

We're noticing that it's darker later in the morning and earlier in the evening.  Must mean fall is coming!

Two for Wednesday

We were going to take these pictures yesterday, but there were a lot of people in the parking lot so we didn't get to.  Therefore Two for Tuesday became Two for Wednesday!
Nathan really likes buses.  He picks them out wherever we are.  In fact the doctor's office was decorated with back-to-school stuff and he was very disappointed he couldn't have one of the school buses!
This is the short bus used by the daycare to pick up kids from school.
[He's proudly wearing one of his tractor shirts!]

Coloring with Daddy

Nana sent Nathan a cool coloring book with Nathan's name throughout and a story line that included horses.
While dinner was cooking tonight, they went to town!
Thanks, Nana!

Swimming!

Every day we get the request "Svimmin?"

So, Nathan got his request filled... He went swimming with Daddy.  Thank goodness for this big tree to offer shade so that even in the heat of the day we can be somewhat cooler.

We ran out of swimmy diapers and evidently they are a seasonal item so it's been tough to locate any.  So, poor thing had to have a regular diaper on.  It sat up by itself when I took it off.  It was funny! :)

Trip to Indiana

God allowed everything to work out for Nathan and I to go visit my dear friend from college who lives north of Evansville, Indiana.  She has some health issues which prevent her from traveling on her own so I've visited her and her family now for the second time.   It's been about 4 years since we last saw each other.
She has three children - daughter in 6th grade, son in 3rd grade, and a son in 2nd grade.  Nathan loved playing with the older kid toys.  Her daughter loves horses and since that's one of Nathan's favorites right now, he was in heaven!  He carried around at least one with him the whole time we were there.
 Yee hah!
He loved this horse and had figured out how to hold it with his thighs.
Not the most flattering picture, but here we are!
Nathan was not happy.

Potatoes

Yep, these are some tasty looking red potatoes -- I think they're organic, grown in the area.  We stopped over at our neighbors after coming home last night and she shared with us some produce that they were not going to eat [she gets a box from a co-op with whatever is in season].

I could hardly believe it when she handed over this bag of potatoes.  You see, potatoes has been on the grocery list the last 3 weeks or so.  I haven't purchased a bag of them because we haven't been able to eat them all before they went bad.  I had bought a couple loose ones a month or so ago and that had worked, but I only had 2 left which wasn't enough for a meal.

You still may wonder, "Why is Kristy so crazy about these potatoes?"  Well, it's because to me it was a reminder that God knew what I needed even though I didn't ask Him for it.  He provided a seemingly insignificant item to remind me that He knows what I need.  He'll take care of me and even bless me with gifts.

Also, I think because I was able to slow down and reflect on some things I've been reading in Scripture and what our pastor has been talking about, it was easier for me to see and praise Him for.  Thank you, God, for potatoes!

Two for Tuesday

Isn't he such a cutey?!  He sticks his arms in his overalls and walks around.  One of the daycare workers said that she gets concerned that he'll fall and hurt himself so she asks him to take them out.  Too funny.

We were watching this video last night and Nathan was just getting so cracked up by it.  He laughed and laughed.  Maybe it'll bring a smile to your face on this Tuesday

Share a Coke?

We took a quick pic with the Coke bottle since it had "Nate" on it.  I think we all have interesting expressions on our face... Momma isn't quite up yet.  Nathan's pondering whether he remembered to put up his sippy cup.  And, Barry, well.... He's not quite sure it was a good idea to take a picture when we were already running a tad late for church.

Have I told you about my Coke addiction?!  Well, that can be for another post.

Wilson County Fair, Part 2

Now, it's time for the fun stuff with Nathan!
 Playing in a "corn box"
 Driving the tractor
Of, course, we saw all sorts of animals -- cows, pigs, horses, bunnies, chickens, goats, sheep, etc.

A fun farmer made out of hay bales
 Silly picture with Momma
 Riding that tractor!

We saw some monkeys race on doggies, a horse making ice cream, and lots of interesting fair food.  It was a hot afternoon, but a brief rain shower helped cool it off.  The animals were the real interest for Nathan. :)

Wilson County Fair, Part 1

I'm splitting up the pictures from the Wilson County Fair because I didn't want to confuse you with the two parts to the trip.  First, we went to support my good friend and neighbor Jackie.  She entered the Senior Ms. Wilson County pageant.
Here she is sharing her talent - story telling.  She told a story about an experience she had with the treatment she was doing for breast cancer.
Here she is all decked out in her beautiful dress.
Here she is with her family after winning!
(Yes, it is a bouquet of carrots that she's holding.)

Make You Smile?

Nathan has been enjoying "wearing" Momma's sunglasses. Isn't he hilarious?!  He tries to set them on his head like I do when I'm not using them, but his head's too small and they just fall forward.

By the way, he's wearing his "whew, whew" shirt -- you know the sound a firetruck makes!  He loves identifying the sounds we hear outside.

Goofy

Nathan LOVES Goofy.  He's Nathan's favorite character on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (his favorite show).  Why?  Who knows.  So, in addition to the questions of "Where's the cow/horsie/goat?" [In the barn.], we now have to answer, "Where is Goofy?" [At the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, of course!]

I couldn't resist sharing this goofy picture of Nathan (like the play on words there?!).
Here's a selfie that he took with 'Kafrine' (my youngest sister) on his way to the pool one of the days we were on vacation.  This is also a question that we've been hearing, "Where is Kafrine?"  The answer to that is: "She's with Andrew, Aaron, and that baby Millie!"

Two for Tuesday

As you have noticed, it has been a couple weeks since I posted.  [I would suggest going back to July 29 and reading forward to catch up on what's been happening.]  Frankly, life has been so overwhelming that there has been barely survival going on (let alone thriving).  The last two months have been a mish-mash of work, life, yard work, grocery shopping, etc. and then there was a couple days off on "vacation".  Let's just say that I've felt a lot like this poor donkey.  Overburdened with my load and people around me going along as if they don't see me floundering.

My primary problem revolved around extra work responsibilities which then impacted every area of my life.  I think that things are coming to a conclusion, but there were some days in there that I don't even know which end was up.  Did I get help?  I have to say, there were few times that help was even offered which made it even more difficult internally because I then would mull around what was wrong with me that no one would offer help.  So, in light of my experience, I think that God has showed me that I need to have a better awareness of others and what they're going through.  I need to offer help when I see them struggling.

So, to end on a better note, my second picture for today is happier.  Do you notice what's different?

I got contacts! :)
My dear husband let me get contacts again.  I was so tired of looking through glasses.  Hurray!

Monday Funday

Our little guy has been not quite himself over the last week.  He threw up Thursday morning, refused to eat dinner Saturday night, ate very little on Sunday, and has slept oddly since returning from vacation.  We wondered if molars are coming in and bothering him, but don't quite know what the problem is.  Hopefully he'll do better this week.
 Fun after swimming on Saturday
He's loving to slide wherever we can find one!
It's a frog! :)
Nathan loves to hop like a frog and ribbit!

More 'Svimmin'

This was from our vacation in Ohio... He was soooo excited to 'svim'!

'Svimmin' in the Wading Pool

Our little town has a beautiful park with great equipment to play on and a wading pool for kids under 12 that's free.  We hadn't made it yet this summer, so we decided to go for it since Nathan loves 'svimmin'!

Pay for a Shower?

Yes, indeedy, folks!  We had to pay for a shower at the camp ground.
My brother said that he had never seen this before and could hardly believe that a privately owned camp ground would charge for a shower.

So, we found that 1 quarter just wasn't quite enough.  Knowing this, I put in two quarters and had an extra on top just in case it wasn't enough.  Needless to say, we counted swimming as part of hygiene efforts. :) [Poor Nathan never did get cleaned up until we got home and could put him in the tub!]

Family Pics

Here we are in all our glory during our vacation.  I was adamant to get a couple pictures since there would be someone else around to snap a pic.

More Vacation Fun

Nathan l-o-v-e-d playing with his boy cousins.  He tried real hard to be a big boy!
