Playing at Chick-fil-A

For the first time, we got Nathan to play inside the play place at Chick-fil-A.  We went to play at my dad's Chick-fil-A while waiting for my mom to get done with work.  Since there was no one else in there, I went up with Nathan to see if we could get him to go down the slide. I had to push and shove (!) but got him down the first time.  The 2nd time it wasn't too hard to get him to go.  The 3rd time and subsequent times, he had no problem going by himself!

Playing with Oreo

As I've mentioned before, Nathan calls both cats Oreo.  He has a big awareness now for them and often when we get home he'll be searching for them.  In this picture, he had run up to Oreo and started petting her.  He's had a few close calls where the cats have gotten fed up with him, but since they don't have front claws, he's been saved.

Two for Tuesday

Nathan's cousin's Oma & Opa have a pool in their yard and we got to go swimming on Monday.

We went with my sister and her family to their church picnic.  They had inflatables for the kids to play on and my nephew had a great time!

Don't mind our overgrown front "flower" beds!  I've actually had to take the weed-whip to them because they're getting so long.  There is actually some bushes in the midst of them, but they've not grown very much.  Maybe one of these days we'll get to post an after picture!

Two for Tuesday

In order to accommodate the window units, we had to move the furniture around in our bedroom.  In the process of moving, Daddy had to do some work and pulled out the tools.

TGIF

Crazy picture for a crazy Friday morning!

It's 50 degrees outside and raining.  We had to pull coats out to wear and the boys are wearing jeans.  What a difference 2 days make!  The storm brought a cold front and we're not sad about it.  We'd been in the mid to high 80's for about a week and are glad to cool down a bit.

Grandma Stevens gave this giraffe to Nathan for his first Christmas.

Buddy (as Barry & Nathan are calling him) has been in Nathan's room ever since, but within the last month or so, Nathan has taken a greater interest in him, wrestling with him and toting him around the house.  Riding on his back is a typical thing for him to do.  Good thing Buddy takes it in stride, right?!

We pulled out the Pepped Up t-shirt (hand-me-down from the Vernons!) to wear Sunday afternoon.  Does Nathan look pepped up?! :)

Mother's Day

Nathan got me a beautiful necklace and an electric can opener (one of the items I've wanted for like 15 years!).  He also made the cupcake wrapper flowers at daycare.  What a great surprise!  He liked opening each gift and seeing what it was.

We didn't do much during the day as it was very warm.  We just hung out and played.  

Visiting A Friend

 This is our little friend who belongs to Uncle Rick.  Isn't she a cutey?!

Nathan wasn't so sure about her, though.  He liked playing with her toys! :)

We went to surprise Uncle Rick for his birthday (but I didn't get a picture with the birthday boy) and he was surprised!  We hung out for a while and got to see the family.  Too bad we can't celebrate birthdays with the other two (Melissa & Traci) who have birthdays on the 12th! 

Muffins with Mom

Do you see our little guy?  He's on the right, center picture.  His sign says "She's caring" but the look on his face is just priceless.  If he could be any more sad to sit there!

Daycare does Muffins with Mom for Mother's Day and we went a little early to eat one.  I didn't get a picture of the two of us, but hopefully Mrs. Jenny Lee will pass along the one she took of us.

Nathan was sick yesterday -- when I went to wake him up, he had thrown up in bed (I don't think he even realized it!).  We brought him into the bathtub and Barry hosed him down as he continued to throw up and have diarrhea.  [Just what you wanted to know, right?!]  He continued occasionally throwing up for about 1 1/2 hrs. and then did fine the rest of the day.  Barry is planning to pick Nathan up early today since he's still not 100%.

We got to spend a bit of time with a good friend who was in town for a short visit.  Mrs. Judy is a good friend that we went to church with and has actually not lived in Lebanon for about 3 years (longer than we've had Nathan!).  But, she's good to see us when she comes in town.  Maybe we'll get to visit this summer!

He's doing so good this weekend with not crying (hurrah!) and we are so glad.  Thanks to Mrs. Stephanie for this outfit he got for his birthday that he finally got to wear today.

Friday Fun?

I told you yesterday that our days have been filled with tears and sure enough, this morning was another tear-filled one.  No matter what we did, it was not good enough!

We're looking forward to the weekend, are you?!

Tears & Azaleas

Don't mind the weeds growing in the background, but as you can see one of our azalea bushes has started blooming!  Hurray!

Goodness have we been in a tear-filled week!  Every little thing it seems provokes him to tears.  I'm not sure what the cause was for the tears here except maybe to keep it going from the whole morning long. :(

It got a bit chilly again so we had to pull out the jackets and long pants.  I don't mind.  I'm glad not to be sweating in the house!
