Happy New Years!

The challenge with a new camera is to figure out all the peculiarities of it.  Sometimes it focuses just fine and other times it's a bit fuzzy.

We obviously had a high flying rip-roaring night as you can see below. :)

Nathan joined me on the couch for a little bit of snuggling. :)

Playing with his Farm

For Christmas, Nathan got a barn from us, a pond & pig pen set from the Stevens, and a John Deere combine (Noah's driving it!).  He was very excited to get all his animals situated and play with all the parts.  Since farm animals are his thing, he's in heaven! :)

Stockings (Christmas, Part 1)

So the Roberts' tradition is to open stockings and then to eat breakfast.
Woo hoo!  What will we find?
 A horsey!  A horsey!
On to breakfast preparations...
Yay!  Yummy breakfast.

Family Fun

Nathan has talked and talked about going to Papa-Nana's house.  Usually it's in conjunction with playing trucks and seeing "Arn" (his cousin Aaron).

Here Nathan is sporting his Christmas sweater!

We had a full Christmas Eve and enjoyed the time we were together with family.  It's the start of a great holiday!

Fun with Family

We had more fun with family today.  Hopefully, I'll get some of the pictures from my sister-in-law and be able to share a little of the fun had at Chuck E. Cheese.
Nathan got a couple more gifts from my co-workers so he opened them up.
 Reading with Brianna
Travis was Nathan's best buddy!  Nathan also got to the point that he really didn't mind Bentley and would even touch him.  Wow!  Such progress.

Visit with Family

We were excited to have Barry's brother and family from Michigan come and spend the weekend with us.  They spoiled us for sure with gifts for Nathan and just fun times.
 Nathan opening up his gifts!
Playing basketball with Brianna (they fit the hoop in their car!)
We got to take a field trip into Nashville and visit Antique Archaeology and look a the sights downtown.
Yay for cousins!

Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee

Do you know the song, "Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee"?  Evidently they've been learning it in daycare.
[Sorry I had the words wrong when I sang it!]

Two for Tuesday

We finished up the cookies so that they would be ready for the party on Wednesday.  Someone was bashful though and wouldn't look at the camera.

What do you think?  We were fairly uncreative and made do with what we have.  I think that the 2 year old class should like them.

Christmas Card

I saw this cute idea on using a child's footprint to make a manger scene and decided that we'd try this for Christmas.  I knew it was going to be a struggle because of Nathan's finickyness with his feet, but I thought we'd be able to do a few a day and get a bunch made.  Well, we got 8 made.  This was a labor of love and probably not anything I'd try again for awhile.  Nathan cried and cried while I painted his foot and you would have thought we were torturing the poor boy.

Merry Christmas! :0

Making Cookies

For Nathan's class party, we signed up to bring cookies.  We had a fun time making them, can you tell?

Despite his aversion to messy things, Nathan did awesome with the flour and picking up the dough.

Tenting

Nathan's been asking and asking to make a tent.  I don't quite think that he quite understands what it is, but Barry tried to make one with him.  He liked crawling in, but then he would tug on the blanket...  Needless to say, Barry got exasperated with the experience before Nathan was ready to be done!

Doesn't it look fun?

Cows for Breakfast

Sorry for the poor quality, but Nathan had four cows join him for breakfast this morning.  He had them eating his breakfast and getting full. :)

Who joined you for breakfast today?!

Stickers

It started yesterday when I wore a snowman pin and instead of giving Nathan a pin, we found a snowman sticker for him to wear.  Today, he decided that the donkey and camel would look good on his shirt!  Too bad that they didn't make it even to show off at daycare.

Something Nathan's been saying recently is "all right." But the way he says it is just so comical.  He uses it appropriately, but you just wonder where he picked it up. :)

He's got the rash back again around his mouth from the extra saliva. Uck.

Two for Tuesday

We are working through an Advent calender in preparation for Christ's birthday.

Today was a special day...
We got to open the horsey one! :)

[Ummm... We won't talk about the ones that he's opened already to see what's underneath! Since he can't read, it's nothing exciting. What can you do?!]

Cowboy Nathan

Nathan asked again for the cowboy hat and wanted a picture.

Happy Friday!

Decorating the Tree

Since our small group family and our neighbors had their tree up already, it seemed like the thing to do!  Nathan has been excited about the ornaments and touching so this was his chance.
This side that Nathan kept going to was well decorated - sometimes with 2 ornaments on a branch! He kept wanting to fix them so we'll see how long they stay up.

The cutest thing happened when I put Nathan to bed.  We sing a couple songs as part of our routine and once or twice he's kind of hummed along with me.  But, this last time as I was singing "How Great is Our God", he sang the whole thing with me - even when I sang the hymn "How Great Thou Art".  Wow!  That was awesome! I think that he's finally catching on.  :)

Turkey Day

Here are my boys, ready for the Lions game...

Don't you just love the turkey hat?!

We didn't get to be with family this year since Barry had to work both Friday and Saturday, but we enjoyed our time together and hung out doing stuff at home for a change.  We got to eat lunch with our neighbors and watch the Macy's parade as well as the football games.  It was a great day!

I'm so thankful for my boys and all that God has done in our lives.  How precious these times are!

Pajama Day

Nathan was in a posing mood this morning and this is what we got:
[Still can't keep those eyes open when he's got the cowboy hat on! :)]

Momma!

Today was Pajama & Pizza Day.  Can you tell he was excited about it?! Love these jammies that his cousin passed down.
