Fun Collage

Isn't this neat?!  I am using a free collage program called picmonkey.com.  It's pretty cool! The many faces of Nathan at 20 months!

Football Fan?

Is he a Titans fan? This picture doesn't do justice to the hilarity of the situation. The poor thing would have had inches of skin showing on his belly and it was sized 2T! We shared the sweatshirt with a friend who is several months younger than Nathan in hopes they could wear it this fall/winter.
Hurray!  The Lions beat the Cowboys!  Is Nathan a Lions fan?  Most definitely! :)  We're going to have to pull out the jersey to wear next -- maybe on Friday it will be warm enough.

Who do you cheer for?

Two for Tuesday

I thought I'd go crazy and do 2 collages today!
This was from our fun time at Mr. Robert's & Mrs. Jackie's on Saturday.  We went on a walk on their trail, saw cows, hung out by the campfire, and ate a lot of good food! Their place is in Smithville -- about 35 minutes southeast of our home in Lebanon.

Here's a fun collage of what Nathan did on Sunday!  Playing his do-di-do, hanging out in the box, and playing his guitar.

Can you just get enough of him?! :)

Jamming

We found this guitar in our "too big" toys and thought Nathan might be just the size now to handle it.  Boy, was he excited!

Dancing and singing too!

Fun with Papa

We had been practicing saying "Papa" and Nathan almost had it down pat.  He said it a few times on Saturday while my dad was there, but definitely had it figured out on Sunday after Dad had left!  He let Papa carry him some and play with him.  They even got to watch shows Saturday morning!  It was great to have him for a short visit!

Antique Archaeology - Nashville

Look where we went on Friday afternoon!
Papa was in Nashville working and decided to stop by for a visit!  We went to Antique Archaeology because American Pickers is Papa's favorite show!
We enjoyed the band playing and saw a couple things that we recognized from the show.  We didn't see Mike or Frank though.

Football Friday

I'm a Lions player!
Isn't this the cutest?  We found it on clearance at the end of last winter.
It was so chilly this morning that we had to get the toque (tuke for you non-Canadians) out and a blanket to go over his hands and legs.  It was c-h-i-l-l-y!

Hope you have a great Friday!

Eating Breakfast

[Sorry for the long lapse in posts.]
 "I LOVE toast!"
 "Can't you tell?"
"Don't you eyeball my toast!"

You've never seen someone love toast as much as Nathan!  He can't wait to eat it (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays) and bring an extra slice with him to daycare to eat with the girls.  Yum yum!

Talking?

Nathan is talking up a storm.  It started last weekend and has continued since.  He'll get going at meal time and you just have to agree with him!  He's too cute!  Maybe we'll start understanding some words soon!

 Go Michigan!!!!
Thanks, Aunt Chelle for this awesome shirt.

Daddy, I really want to play football!

Hayride & Outdoor Fun

Look at what I can do:

Oops!  I sat in something and got my butt all wet!

 Enjoying a snack:

He really liked the other children's chairs -- one was a lion and one was a monkey and would frequently try to sit in them.  There was also one that was like a director's chair and he liked that one the best!

 On the hayride:
(open your eyes, Baby!)
A family pic
Our small group got together to enjoy the fall weather and have a bonfire and hayride.  Nathan loved climbing on the playset and sliding down the super big slide!  He climbed the rock wall a number of times.  He wasn't much for the hot dogs or s'mores but we figured he wouldn't be and had brought some other food.  It was a cool night and we were glad for the fires and sweatshirts.  Fun times!

Sunday Fun

Nathan spent a bit of time playing in the laundry basket and also playing with those crayons.  He loves to put them in the box and pull them out again.  It can hold his attention span for many, many minutes!

We're super excited about our evening activities and will share pictures tomorrow!

Football Friday

Yep, this is the best I can do for you, Momma!

It's a chilly morning so we grabbed coats to wear.  In fact, we pulled out a heater last night for Nathan's room since he won't keep covers on.  It was into the 40s last night and 47 when we left the house.

Nathan got this lovely shirt from his cousin and is looking sharp today!  Hopefully he'll make it through the day with it (he's been having bad diapers lately).

Happy Friday!

Throwback Thursday

Awwww!  Look at that cutey! :)

Remember how I had to put him on our bed to "play" while I finished getting ready in the morning?  Now we can hardly keep the boy in one place as we're getting ready.  In fact, I let him stay in his crib until I'm ready for him or otherwise I won't get everything done!

This week has been an early morning rising for Nathan.  He's been up at least by 5am each day.  What do we do to encourage him to sleep?  He's not been sleeping very long at daycare (but we understand it's because one of the children wakes kids up) so we know he's exhausted.  Please pray he'll get the rest he needs this weekend!

Go Tigers!

My boys had to wear Tigers stuff today to support their team as the Tigers are behind in the series they're playing against Boston.  Poor Nathan had already gotten slobber all over his shirt while brushing his teeth.  What can you do with him?!

Hopefully the game will go well and the Tigers will pull it together!

Two for Tuesday

Uncle Jeremy & Micah would be so proud...

This was a birthday gift from Nathan's cousins that live in South Dakota.  He has played with the balls for quite some time, but decided tonight that he wanted to play with the other piece.  Now, he had no idea that this was a backboard, but when I stuck it to the sides of the shower, he quickly realized what it was.  He has played with one at daycare, but had no clue this was one.

He played and played and played -- trying to stuff whatever he could in the net.  Too fun!

Snaggletooth

So look what Nathan did today...  One of these things is not like the other :(
His front tooth got chipped.
Another caption might be "This is what happens when you disobey."
He decided to not follow what his teacher was saying to do and fell.  My guess is that he swallowed the tooth.
We get to enjoy this grin for like 4 more years. :(

Fortune

We decided to get Chinese for lunch today and this was my fortune.
Very interesting, right?!  Wacky inventions?!  I can't even begin to think of what kind of invention that would be!

Hope you have a good start to the week!  We had a nice day together and had the evening together too.  Our life group decided to take the night off.  It should have meant that I had lots of stuff accomplished or felt rested and ready for the week, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case.  Oh well.  Hopefully, I can get things together!  We have lots of people coming in for meetings at work and that presents its own set of challenges.  We'll see.

Snuggle Time

Nathan woke up a little bit early today so he came out and snuggled some with Daddy while I finished getting ready.  Notice how he's holding the other paci in his hand!  That's how he falls to sleep - one in his mouth and one in his hand!

Hope you have a great Friday!  Thank goodness, right?!

Throwback Thursday

As I was thinking back about what happened last year, I remembered that after a cold snap, we wore summer clothes again for a little bit.  Sure enough, there's the proof!  We had pulled out some long sleeves and jackets and then today were back to wearing shorts.

I think Nathan only ever wore these shorts 1x as they were 9 month shorts and he wasn't quite big enough in the waist to keep them up (we've found though that if you wear a onesy, it gives more traction and keeps up bigger bottoms!).  I thought he might wear them again this summer, but it was quite a big difference in size to wear them.

Hope you had a good Thursday!

My spot

Whenever we go to the store and there's a little place open on the shelves, Nathan loves to climb in and sit there.  So, we were trying to think of a place at home that we could make for him.
So, we took out the shelf in the buffet so that Nathan could climb in.
It takes a little bit of maneuvering, but he gets in there!
Cross-legged, with his band on, and everything! :)

Happy Wednesday! :)

Twins!  (Both have blue jackets on)

We're doing much better this week with good health and sleeping.  Thanks for all the prayers!

Shout out to Nana as it's her birthday today.

Long Sleeves

Today was the first day for long sleeves.  It was 48 this morning and the high is just 68!  (I think that he looks like his cousin in this picture -- especially with the handyman shirt!)

We've pulled out the next size of clothes and will be going back and forth for a while since some 18 months still fit and some don't.  We were thankful for a generous supply of clothing from cousins to help us through the winter!

Lasagna!

We made Nana's famous lasagna recipe for lunch today.
It was sooo yummy!

Another shout out for a birthday -- one of Nathan's cousins turned 8!
This was from Thanksgiving last year.

Tailgating Fun

My office decided to have a tailgate at work on Friday so we were supposed to wear football jerseys or shirts to go with the theme.  I pulled out my Alabama shirt to be opposite of my friend who loves Tennessee.
Roll Tide!

We're looking for the weather to cool down as the last couple days have been quite warm.  Fall is on the way!

Also, since it's Papa's birthday today, here's a recent picture:
We love you!

Yay Tigers!

We had to break out our Tigers cookies as the Tigers go to the post season!  Nathan wore his Tigers outfit to daycare too!

One Thousandth Post

WOW!  I can hardly believe that I have made it to 1000!
So much has happened since I started this blog on November 9, 2008.  What started as a way to record the cards that I was making and activities that we were involved in has eventually morphed into an almost daily digest of what our son is up to!  Looking back to 2008, I never would have foreseen the events that God would bring us through.  It's been an amazing adventure and one that I couldn't have anticipated.  We have struggles and often fail.  Yet God still chooses to work in and through us.

I read this verse on another person's blog and it has been a reminder to me of what God does for us.  I hope it's an encouragement to you today, no matter what you're going through.  God lives with us -- He's here and wants us to help us through whatever we're going through.

O God, You cause abundant showers to fall on Your chosen people.
When they are tired, You sustain them, for You live among them.
Psalm 68:9-10a

Hanging Out

 "The light.... Oooooo!"
"What?  You think it's weird that I ride in the back of the Jeep?!"
Ha ha!

We're already cruising through this week -- although I have to say that with all that we've done so far it feels like today should at least be Thursday if not Friday.  It's hard being gone over the weekend and staying on top of things!

But, we're excited to be able to go for the first time to worship night at church tonight.  It is from 6:30-7:30 and that's very close to bedtime, but we're going to put Nathan in his jammies and let him sleep in the car on the way home.

Two for Tuesday

We have been so blessed!  Nathan has gotten mail two days in a row!
Sunday we came home to a package that was sent with love from Michigan.  Here he's trying to get into the truck.
Monday he got a package from Nana & Papa with a new band!!!  When you press a button on the band it plays the Superman music!

Who knows what'll be there today!
