Crazy March Weather

We woke up this morning and found some crazy white stuff on the ground. What is that all about?

We had already put away hats and gloves and had to scramble to get them out for today.

The locals are hopeful this will help with allergies since the dreaded Bradford Pear trees are blooming (stinky fish). Thankfully, all of us have been doing pretty good and haven't had anything terrible to complain about, just a few runny noses. Maybe this will be our last cold snap?!

Counting down

Nathan's been in this stage where he asks us and tells us how much he misses us. We could have been separated for 1-2 hours (at church) and he'll tell us that he misses us. Although it can be heart rending (and sweet too) to hear this from him, it was a reminder that we needed to have some time together as a family. Thankfully, a break is coming up so we started making a plan.

Coundowns have been popular so this time the boys both worked at moving the numbers starting from 12.
What is going on here?!
Nathan's acting silly and Zach is way too interested in food. WAIT. These are typical reactions for the boys! No Facebook-perfect picture here today!
We're headed to visit 'cousants' in Michigan since we didn't get to go at Christmas. A new house is finished with a new puppy to meet. It'll be a great couple of days!
Another surprise is up our sleeves and we hope the weather will cooperate.

Bird Seeders

Do you know what a bird seeder is? It's a cute adaptation of bird feeder. You put bird seed in it, so it should be a bird seeder, right?!

Last summer, before school started back, our bird seeder was taken down. We think that some high schooler were causing havoc because our sunflower was also cut down. In any case, we replaced the feeder with a new one because we needed to keep feeding the birds. The new one seems to be more difficult to eat from (or perhaps harder on the squirrels to knock over) and the bird seed lasts longer. Since the old one mysteriously was found, we decided to get both of them out for the birds coming back after the winter.

[Nathan's in this big thing about posing and making funny faces. Zach isn't quite so sure about it.]

Crazy Hair Day!

Today was Crazy Hair Day. We got hair gel for the boys' hair because Nathan thought he wanted to do a Mohawk. When it came down to it, he didn't want to do it. I did Zachy's hair and he still didn't want it. I made him and you can see how happy he was with me.

Nathan's hair stayed crazy for the day, but when we got Zach, his hair was back to normal. When we got home, Nathan had me brush out his hair as he had enough!

It's been fun!

Two for Tuesday School Edition

This week has been Read Across America and the students have certain things to wear for each day.

Monday was wearing green for green eggs and ham.
Tuesday was wearing a shirt with words on it. (see him on the far left?)

Sweet Baby

One of my good friends just had a baby and sent us an announcement. Zachy is so in love with babies and loved looking at it. It's kind of fun at this age when they notice others. When Nathan was this age, he would point out babies wherever we went.

Sunday Shenanigans

Nathan used some more birthday money for this cool Hot Wheels jump and a set of cars. The boys were trying to make it difficult so that I had couldn't get the cars to make it all the way to the end. We found there were only a couple cars that could make it all the way to the end -- maybe due to the weight of them -- I'm not sure.

Thanks Grandma, Amy, Keith & Traci & cousins!

First Back Ride of 2018

The weather has been so nice that we decided to go for a bike ride today. In fact, we had to get out shorts because it got so warm. We can't decide if the warm weather is here to stay so we're hesitant to take off the plastic around the windows.

Isn't Zachy's face so cute?! Also, Nathan and his cowboy boots?! There's a worm in between Nathan's bike and mine that we watched for quite a while and then checked out again when we got home. We're not so sure that it's going to make it.

Flashback Friday

9/2/2017
We got to get together with family before Mom and Dad moved at the Puschs' house in Cleveland. It was a good time together and we missed Lindsey, Chelsea, and Micah.

Katherine worked hard to make matching shirts which was a neat thing to take back home with us.

First Daffodils

We saw our first daffodils today at our neighbor's house and then Zachy and I decided to go for a walk and we came back to take pictures. Zach had a rough time tonight when Barry and Nathan left and cried for a good long time. Finally when I got him in the stroller he calmed down and was able to enjoy the walk. Periodically throughout the night though, he'd ask where Daddy was.

Sunday Fun

The weather has been unseasonably warm and we couldn't resist playing outside. Zachy decided he needed to ride the trike. We went to our neighbor's driveway because it's paved and they weren't home. Poor thing couldn't reach the pedals so he had to lift his feet so I could push him up the hill and then he rolled down. Woo hoo!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We came up with things that we loved about each of the boys and added one each day of February. I tried to get the boys to take a picture with the hearts that we have been putting up and this is what we got:
Eating a biscuit.

Zach wouldn't let Nathan take a picture by himself (still eating the biscuit).
Now Nathan could have his turn.
Silly one!

Nathan At School

Nathan with some friends at recess
Can you spy Nathan? They were working on some math with our math partner. One partner would make up a word problem, and the other would solve it with their board and/or snap cubes.

More Celebrating

Nathan was super excited to get to choose another gift with money that he got from Nana and Papa. He is on a big kick with Legos and has been spending lots of time building whatever he can.

Thanks, Nana & Papa!

Satuday Celebration

We got together with our neighbors because each of the families had a birthday this month. Mr. Robert (burgundy shirt on the front right) and Mr. Ralph (blue shirt on the back left) each have a birthday in February too. Chick-fil-A was a great place to celebrate and surprisingly they weren't swarmed with people. Nathan said he was celebrating with his family (It was very sweet!).
Then, Nathan used his money that he got from Nana and Papa to get a set of Legos.
[The balloons are from Mrs. Jackie and Mr. Robert.]

Nathan's Birthday, Part 3

We made it home in the rain. Nathan was disappointed but it was his birthday, right? We couldn't get him to decide what he wanted to eat (It's a surprise!?) and finally he determined that he'd like pizza to eat at home. Zachy and I went to pick it up and Nathan and Barry got the living room ready for a picnic.
Another time to sing and blow out the candle!
We enjoyed our yummy pizza and breadsticks.

He opened his cards and gift from Uncle Tod & Aunt Michelle.

Look at all these fun Lego sets from the Michigan Stevens!
[Look at all the pizza sauce we missed wiping off his face!]

Nathn's Birthday, Part 2

After a wonderful breakfast of blueberry muffins, we headed on our way to school with cupcakes for the kids. Despite a bunch of ideas on what we could bring that all would like, Nathan was determined that the kids would need cupcakes. So, we packed up a muffin for Nathan and hoped it would work out okay. (He didn't even eat it :( said he wasn't hungry.)
We got to his classroom and Mrs. Christin had a fabulous sign and birthday hat for him. How fun!
At lunch, they had him stand on the bench and the class sang to him. He got to share his cupcakes at this time too.
