Sunflower Bloom

Woo hoo! We have a bloom!

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the boys to take a picture with the bloom and I couldn't get the camera to focus on the flower very well. It's pretty awesome to see how the plant has progressed.

Countdown & Growth

It's finally getting close enough to vacation that we can start counting it down. 10 days to go!

We haven't said too much about vacation because I was sort of worried about all the questions from Nathan. Since our neighbors are on vacation, he mostly has been asking about when they'll return and hasn't focused on our trip.

The sunflower has shot up past Nathan. Look at how strong and tall it stands!

Two for Tuesday - The Boys

Bunnies Have Returned

We've been catching bunnies here and there and finally I was able to catch one on camera!

The boys have to come and see the bunnies every time that we see them. Obviously they were getting ready for bed when we saw this one. Typically we have a litter in our backyard. I don't know if the bunnies have been born later this year, but it seems like it.

Hans Wrote!!!!

Nathan was super excited that he received a letter from Hans today!!!

You recall a week or so ago that Nathan was inspired to color a picture for Hans and expected that we could get it to him. Not really knowing the expectation on it, Barry asked a friend at work if she'd write back as Hans. Then, we acted like he got mail and gave it to him to open. He was so excited and carried it around all night.

Throwback Thursday

Facebook has reminded me lately of some things that have happened in the last couple years that were fun memories. It's amazing the changes that have happened in a couple years, but also the things that are the same.

While the changes show that life has moved on and responsibilities are different (yet the same), the desire to keep track of what is going on in our lives with pictures, continues. It's much harder to stay on top of what's going on with this blog, but I'm trying to keep a record for our family. I've not been good to keep a baby book (and poor Zach still doesn't have his 1st year photo book yet!) so I hope this will be a record to what went on while they grew up.

Sunflower's Progress

Since we replanted the sunflower plant about 10 days ago, it has taken off! We bought some garden soil because we weren't sure how the soil would work here. Evidently whatever we're doing is working. Over a foot in 10 days!

Two for Tuesday

We've been riding bikes and enjoying the weather. The flowers have taken off and we enjoy looking for bunnies and other animals as we are outside.

We love Papa

We wanted to make something fun for Papa and found a neat idea for fire trucks.

As I mentioned yesterday, it's a true labor of love for Nathan to do foot prints.

Father's Day

Daddy got fun stuff for Father's Day from the boys. They made lots of cute crafts and gave him coupons to do something fun.

 Zachy's going to take Daddy for ice cream.

 Since Nathan hates for his foot to be painted, this bag was a true labor of love!

Nathan is going to take Daddy to the movies to see Cars 3.

Swimming at the Big Pool

Our little wading pool at the park in Lebanon that is free has been closed as they do repairs so they offered as a replacement the opportunity to swim at the very nice huge outdoor pool with slides and diving boards and lots of fun things to do. Thankfully, we could enjoy the fun and not have to pay!

I didn't get any pictures while we were playing, but here are the boys being silly with their towels all wrapped around them.

Necklaces

This morning the boys decided they needed necklaces. Aren't they cute?!

Imaginary Friend

You know Hans? He is Nathan's work buddy and seems to be able to do all kinds of fun things all the time. He also frequently has a birthday. Interesting, right? We have asked questions about Hans and Nathan is usually evasive. We do know he has a truck and works with horses.

We watched Frozen yesterday and when Hans showed up, Nathan was very excited. I guess he missed that Hans is the bad guy.

Tonight, Nathan decided he needed to write a note for Hans.

The quandary is how will we get it to him? Nathan put it by his lunch box. I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Playing and Working

It was so hot this afternoon that we didn't go out until later. The boys played a variety of things but enjoyed the Cozy Coupe.

 The sunflower has gotten so big that we had to move it to a place in the yard. Since we're not confident the soil in our yard is good for growing, we got some garden soil to add to the hole Barry dug.

 Sweetie Pie! He figured out how to keep his feet up so that either Nathan or I could push him around.

Here's the sunflower... It'll be neat to see where it's at in a couple weeks!

Sprinkler Fun

The boys took a while to get into playing with the sprinkler and there were quite a few tears from Nathan, but eventually, they started getting into it.

 Of course, our dare devil was the wettest!

 How far can I stand away from the sprinkler?!

Whew! We made it!

We'll see if we do this again.

Doing our Jobs

The boys have "jobs" they do for our family.

 Nathan does stickering on the cards we send from the family.

He also folds the socks, but that isn't too exciting of a picture.

 Zachy brings the trash cans to get a new bag on trash night.

Grocery Shopping

We had a couple things to pick up at the grocery store. Since it had rained, the car grocery carts were wet and unable to be used. This time there were the kids carts.

They did pretty good navigating through the store (well... I had to help Zach!).

First Pool Time

The weather has been warm enough to think about getting out the pool. So we decided to give it a try on Saturday.

The only thing we didn't think about was how cold the water would be from the tap.

We thought to leave it out and warm up over night. Except the 50% chance of rain turned into us waking to rain and rain in the evening. Oh well. Another time.

Bicycle Adventure

We decided to take a bicycle adventure today. The typical trip around our neighborhood is approximately 1 mile by the time we go around the parking lot at the end of the street and all the things we have to do (touch the log or touch the blue arrow). So today was the day for a little exploring!

 We went first to daycare (less than 1 mile from home) and then headed on the rest of the way to the library -- it was 1.7 miles total. We cooled off a little and then headed back home.

The whole trip was 2.9 miles and Nathan made it!!! He got a little emotional when we were crossing a busy street and I went ahead of them, but he did it. No complaining and only a few stops for water. He's big stuff now!
