Playing in the Pool

We had a very fun time playing in the pool this weekend.  If I would have known how excited Nathan was about it on Friday night when the other kids were there, I would have brought down the camera, but I had no idea.  Bath time hasn't been very fun lately (he's been crying a lot) so we didn't know what he'd do with the pool.

He just laughed and laughed and laughed.  We'll have to check out the pools at home and keep up the fun times!

Two for Tuesday

This is the eating edition!
Snacking on fries on the way back from Cleveland...
Look what a big boy I am!  I'm eating a piece of toast (taking bites all by myself!).

Nathan is becoming more and more adventurous with eating.  Last night he would only eat yogurt if I gave the spoon to him to put it up to his mouth!  He's getting to be such a big boy.

Family Fun Continued

Still some fun from the weekend...

 With Uncle Jeremy
Twins!
The whole group of us at the Chattanooga Choo Choo exhibit.

My brother & family came from Sioux Falls, SD to visit with us all.  Unfortunately, due to a variety of factors, only his family and my parents were able to stay the week with my sister Melissa and family in Virginia.  Then they came down to Cleveland to stay with my other sister Katherine and we came over for the weekend.  So, my brother did get to see everyone, but not all at one time.

It was good to see his kids and have the cousins play together.

Whee!

Family Fun in Chattanooga

 Hanging out with Papa
You use this to move suitcases?  I think it's better as a kid mover!
How many children can we strap in Nana & Papa's car?
 with Aunt Katherine (and Millie)
 with Aunt Lindsey (and Papa)
Cousins on the Chattanooga Choo Choo
Do you see the fishies?!

More to come! :)

Chasing the Bunny

[Oops... I had this one already to post and somehow didn't...]
Look to right in the top corner...
Oh, I'm going to get him!
If I chase him in the corner, do you think I can pet him?
(Do you see his bands?  They go everywhere with him.)

Ready to Go!

"I've got my paci and my bands -- I'm ready to go!"

I had gotten a band bracelet from work the middle of June and Nathan decided it was a good toy for him.  Then we did some cleaning and Barry found a whole stash of bands from when he worked for Women of Faith.  So, these two bands go with us all over the place.  Usually he has the both of them on his left arm, but occasionally he switches it up.  What a sweetie pie!

Two for Tuesday

Today. Listening to Momma's birthday card.

(one year ago) July 24, 2012
Big smiles for the camera

Momma got this super cool talking card that says "We want ice cream!" with Hoops & Yoyo (see them here).  While this is not true for Nathan, he loves cards that make noise.  In fact when we go near the card section at the store, he'll pull out cards and open them expecting to hear a song!

Happy Tuesday!

Daycare fun

In the early morning when we drop off Nathan, he plays in the room next door with so exciting bigger child toys.
This is his room during the day.  They have all sorts of ABCs all around the room and go through the song with the kids daily.  Also, up on the far left you'll see different posters for each of the kids with pictures of people important to them.

I'll have to remember to bring my camera in at the end of the day to get a picture with the main teacher and then with the 4 amigos that are typically there when we get Nathan.

Momma's Birthday

We started out the day with donuts -- Momma's favorite!  Nathan even decided to eat a blueberry donut.
We got to go to church and then later on after Nathan's nap we went over to visit with some friends from our small group. We had dinner with them too.

You can see my gift on my wrist -- a new watch! :)

It was a great day.

Balls

One of Nathan's favorite things is balls.  He carries them all around.  Today he decided to hold onto two balls!

These balls were actually decorations at his baby shower!  They've come in handy now that he's big enough to enjoy them.

Steps

Steps have been a big difficulty yet for Nathan.  He tries to step down, but can't quite figure it out yet.
Just before this, he was holding on tight to the black railing trying to get his balance.
"Daddy, please just carry me!"

The poor thing is just struggling something awful.  He's not been sleeping well at daycare and his teeth have been bothering him.  What to do!

We're looking forward to a low-key weekend!  Hope you have a good one too!

Visiting

Look what I got to do last night!!!!

Meet Sofia Julianna Mosley!

My good friend Rick and his wife Irene just had their daughter Sofia on Monday.  Irene was diagnosed late in her pregnancy with gestational diabetes -- the tip off was that Sofia was weighing in over 10 pounds at her 32 week appointment.  Plans were quickly in place to schedule a Cesarean once they determined that it was going to be okay to have her.

I went on Monday to see them on my lunch break, but Irene had not gotten enough feeling back in her legs so she was still in the recovery room.  So, it wasn't till Wednesday that I was actually able to meet and hold Sofia.

Can't wait to spend more time with her!

Hydrangeas

Look at our hydrangeas!

They have not grown as much as in the past (see here).  Evidently 2012 was too busy for a hydrangea picture (can't imagine why!) but in 2010 and 2011, they had already been blooming in early June.  Here it is July and they are just now getting there.  We need to give it some TLC and perhaps it'll blossom even more.

Two for Tuesday

Do you see it? (in the back center)

It's Little Bunny Foo Foo!

We've had a family of rabbits hanging around our yard.  We'll see one in the morning as we're headed out to the car and then sometimes in the afternoon we'll see one too.  We're not sure if their predator is not out and about -- because there has been quite a few bunnies around, but in any case, it's been fun to see Nathan's awareness of them as time has passed.

Monday morning

With the adjustment in our morning schedule now that we're not nursing any longer, Nathan has time to spend with Daddy out on the couch.  He's able to sleep a little longer, but that isn't usually the opportunity that he takes!  He's been waking up earlier and then is underfoot as we're trying to get things together.
 Cheesy grin
"See, Son, we can catch up on last night's sporting events the next morning!"

4 Birdies

There's only 4 birdies left... We don't know what happened to #5.  They've grown a lot in a week!  Check out the post from last Tuesday to see how much they've grown.

Saturday Project

BEFORE (this is on the side of the driveway)
Using a hedge trimmer we started hacking away at the overgrowth
We used a rake to pull down some of the overgrowth and trim it back.
I went back with the weed whacker to get the loose brush toward the bottom.
Barry raked up the pieces that were left over.
Nathan had to get in the action -- look at the pile of brush!
AFTER!  Doesn't it look awesome!  There is a fence back there.

The many faces of Nathan

What a cutey pie!

Happy Thursday!

We decided to pose by the mass of green foliage this morning and get a couple shots.  We're planning on cutting it back this weekend as it's become overwhelming.

Teething is a continual nightmare.  We don't know what to do anymore!  These molars are driving us nuts.

It took 17 months...

It took 17 months for us to use this bottle of Head to Toe Bath Wash.  Isn't that amazing?!

Since we're on the topic of bath time, you will be pleased to know that Nathan is doing extremely well at being in the bath tub.  We had stopped using the inflatable tub just before going to Michigan (because he kept climbing out of it!) and even though it was rough for a few baths, he is now having no troubles.  In fact, he's been trying to climb up the side of the tub.  He can get his foot up on the ledge, but he can't pull himself up (yet!).  When we said it was bath time, he just stopped what he was doing and walked to the bathroom!  (He does that, too, when we say it's time to brush teeth.)

He's growing up!

Two for Tuesday

We noticed a nest in the garage a week or so ago that had eggs in it.  We left it alone and checked on it again on Saturday.  Look at what is in it:

Monday night since we were in the garage, I decided to check out the nest again.  Look at how many there are -- 5!  This morning the mother bird was not happy with us coming out to the car.  I guess she thought we were going to get into the nest.

Since our garage is kind of more like a barn, it's difficult to plug up all the places that animals can get in.  Evidently we'll need to work on the doors because there was enough of a gap that the mother bird could get in.  Fun times.
