A New Baby...

BROTHER!!!!
We got to see pictures of our son, Zachary Alan today.  Unfortunately, he was not doing what the tech wanted to get the measurements that she needed to get.

He was very active and it was tough to get a picture that was still enough, but these are fairly good.  He kept putting his hand up to his face which was kind of fun.

When we told Nathan that we were going to have baby Zachary, he said, "I no like Zachary".  We asked him what he'd like to call him and Nathan said "Baby".  :)

Ice!

Yes, the weather has continued to be bad as the week continued and the ice has been a challenge.
Saturday was a day of rain which helped to reduce the snow, but increased the issue of flooding.  Sunday then opened as a better day - a little warmer and allowed us to do a little work to remove the ice.

Daddy worked hard to remove the ice from the patio and then we went over to our neighbors to try and help them.  We're hopeful the warmer temps will melt this stuff away and we can get back to our lives!

I love you...

Nana and Papa sent this very fun Valentine's card to Nathan.  He's played it so often that we all know the song and will sing along.  It's pretty cute to hear him.

SNOW!

This week has been quite eventful!  We started out from Sunday night into Monday with a sleet/snow mixture that brought closure to daycare and lots of messy roads.

Then, overnight into Wednesday, we got more snow!  Thankfully, since it was just snow, daycare did open.

What a challenge it's been with the weather!  They anticipate it will continue to be bad as the lows are in the teens and things will refreeze overnight so we will see how the week continues.

Valentine's Boy

For Valentine's Day, Nathan got an Olaf balloon.  He loves going around with it and bonking you with it! :)

Big Boy Bed

We've been scoping out the mattress scene, trying to find a good deal on twin mattress sets.  We were finally able to find an awesome deal where the box spring was just $10.  It was too good to pass up and we were able to get some assistance from Uncle Rick to bring them home.

Will he be able to handle the freedom?  We'll see...  Need to get him adjusted before the baby comes!

[Sorry I got behind with posting!  If you go back to this post, and come forward, you'll catch up on the last couple weeks.]

Playing Farm

Before bed time last night, Nathan and Daddy decided to play farm with all the fun animals and farm pieces Nathan had.

Obviously someone has a horse obsession... And people to contribute toward it evidently! :)

Two for Tuesday

Two Years ago - February 2013
Super excited boy here... Our family had to make a conversation heart for the bulletin board at daycare.  Since he loves horses and cows, we had it say "Neigh Moo!"

A family project is also something that we do monthly for daycare (last month it was snowmen -- we made a cowboy snowman!).

Birthday Dinner

A final re-cap of the Birthday Boy Celebration...
While waiting for pizza, Nathan ate one of his leftover birthday muffins.  He brought muffins to daycare to share with his friends (since he doesn't like anything sweet).

Doesn't the pizza look yummy?!  Wish you could have enjoyed it with us...  Next time, right?!

Visit with Papa-Nana

Sorry I didn't get pictures of the wonderful gifts that Papa-Nana gave Nathan, but I did get several of our time at the park.  We went to Huntsville for the day as it was a good half-way point between the both of us.

Nathan liked to throw the food and see what would get it first -- the ducks or the fish.

At the end, the ducks were so friendly that they were eating out of our hands... Nathan didn't mean to feed them, but his finger got nipped in the process.

Other Gifts

After we were able to somewhat get ready for the day, Nathan opened up his other gifts.
  A firetruck

A birthday card and stickers from great aunt and uncle
 My First Crayola Set
Fun pieces to go with the barn from the Stevens in Michigan
Checking it all out while he eats a birthday muffin

Birthday Trike

Our little guy is THREE!  He was convinced it wasn't his birthday and so we decided that the most effective way to help him understand was to open his presents right off in the morning.  He associated presents with birthday (he kept calling it birthday at Christmas!).

Here's some test runs... Sorry it's dark... Since I wasn't using a flash to take the movie, it was relying on the light in the room.
Just as I hit the button to stop recording, he looked up and saw the birthday sign and said, "Happy Birthday to me?!" Wish I would have caught it!

Two for Tuesday

Nathan has been really enjoying coloring and drawing.  I made some cards for some friends and Nathan wrote his name in them.

One year ago... Cutey Pie! :)

Penguin Hat

In the midst of looking for items in the garage, we found some winter items for Nathan.

Here's the first item - a penguin hat! :)

"I want to press the button, Momma!"

Uses for a Box

We were doing some sorting in the garage on Saturday and brought in a few things to check out.  An empty box was hanging around and Nathan found some great uses to use it.

1. Play cars in it.
2. Color pictures on int (like a table).
3.  Ride it like a horsey
4.  Eat a meal off it.
5.  Sit in it.
What can you think of?!
