Backwards Day

Mrs. Melanie likes to plan fun days for the kids to do in the class and this time it was Backwards Day.  We didn't go too crazy, though.  Nathan just wore his shirt backwards -- no backwards pants, shoes or diaper!

Fun times!  Horsey even got in on the fun! :)

16 Weeks

I am just shy of one week away from visiting the doctor again and hopefully getting to hear the baby's heartbeat.  The baby has been moving pretty much every day and I've gotten to the point that it's more comfortable to wear maternity clothes rather than struggling with my regular pants.  I can't say that I've gained any weight back (I lost 10 pounds during the first trimester), but in the long run, that may be better anyway.  We think that we've settled on names and look forward to the ultrasound the end of February.

Laughter

I wished that I could have captured the entire session of laughter as it lasted quite a while, but I did get a few seconds of it.  The boys went from wrestling to messing around.  It was a fun time!

My boys

While the snow was pretty amazing, it only lasted till about 11am or so.  The highs for the day were in the mid to upper 40s so it was short lived.  We did see a few snowmen that were in yards, but they were pretty small!

This is also the last pic with Barry's beard.  He grew it out but was discouraged at the lack of fullness and decided to shave it off.

Nathan's been telling us "I wike pockets" (although I haven't been able to get a picture of him with his hands in his pockets!) and frequently tells us "Good job!" when we've done something he thinks is particularly great (usually just something he can't do yet!).  He was super glad to see one of his friends from daycare in the real world when we went shopping yesterday and talked all day about seeing "Wandon" (Landon).

We are hearing that another big storm is heading toward New England, but hope that it won't affect us too much.

It snowed!

We looked out the window and what did we see?
Snow had fallen through the night!

The boys hanging out (but there's snow!!!)

Nathan didn't mind walking on the snow...

but when he touched it, he said "yuck!"

Two for Tuesday

Nathan got his hair cut this weekend and he's wearing pjs today.  He's looking more and more like a little boy!
This is my first day to wear maternity clothes (tomorrow will be 15 weeks).

Coloring

Nathan got this cool Sesame Street coloring book and markers for Christmas.  He's been loving coloring and drawing.  Often he'll even ask to color which is pretty fun!

Gray is his favorite color right now (only because I won't let him use the black!) although sometimes you can get him to do some other ones.

Resting on Daddy

This was another picture that my sister-in-law captured when they visited us in December.  This is a typical scene - especially as it gets closer to nap time! :)

Happy Friday!

Chuck E. Cheese Fun

When the Michigan Stevens had come down for a visit before Christmas, they took Nathan (& Barry) to Chuck E. Cheese.  My sister-in-law sent me pictures from the time there and I thought I'd share them.

Horsies are his thing but not if he has to get close to one!
(This was his favorite since it sprayed water!)
Despite the challenge that most things were beyond his skill level, he did have a fun time and kept asking for a coin.  They had to shield him from Chuck E. Cheese though because he was scared of it (like many of the costumed animals - the Chick-fil-A cow for example).  It was a good time!

Two for Tuesday

Fun from last night...
Some serious playing going on here! :) [In other words, Momma, you're interrupting me!]
Nathan and Barry playing in the hall.  I was trying to get Nathan's excited squeal and I finally got it!

My Boys

These handsome guys were just hanging out! :)

Well, we've decided to hang up the hat on potty-training.  He only went once the whole week in the toilet.  He would never tell you that he had to go and it was a fight at times to get him in the bathroom.  So, the signs he was giving us weren't quite enough yet.  We'll try again.

13 1/2 weeks

There's definitely a difference between the first and second pregnancies!  Not only the morning sickness stuff, but with showing already.  It seemed forever before anyone (or even us) could tell there was a baby, but this time, I was having to wear big bulky sweaters to work (since I wasn't spilling the beans yet!) and having to figure out how to keep my pants up without buttoning them!

It's been fun to share with co-workers, daycare, and friends at church.  People have been very encouraging and we just continue to pray for this little ones' health.

Exciting News

We posted on facebook some exciting news...
Nathan's no longer going to be an only child!
We took this picture around Christmas time and included it in Christmas cards for family and friends to share the good news.  I just had my follow-up appointment with the doctor on January 7 and Barry was able to come this time.  The baby wasn't cooperating and we weren't able to hear the heartbeat, but the doctor did another ultrasound and we saw the baby.  The heart was beating and the baby even moved on the screen!  We're hopeful that soon the yucky first trimester symptoms will go away and I'll be back to normal.  It was definitely reassuring to see the baby and exciting to be a third of the way through (13 weeks!).

Olaf

Nathan was pretty excited about this shirt that Nana found for him.  He picked it out to wear today.  Another gift he got for Christmas was a stuffed Olaf that talks and sings.  So, he was pressing it's arm (for it to sing/talk) since he was excited about the snowman/Olaf (depends on the moment as to what he'd call it!).

Potty-training is going slow.  He has only gone once in the toilet at daycare, but we're trying to be consistent.  We'll see.

Pull-Ups

This is an exciting day!
We are trying to potty-train.  Nathan was excited to pick the design on the Pull-Up and posed with his "crazy hair" (that's what he's been saying about his hair -- it's crazy!).

Happy Monday!

Yee-Haw!

As you may have seen earlier, Nathan got a horsey from Papa-Nana for Christmas.  He was enjoying the horsey and I had to catch him riding around.

Taking Down the Greens

What else would you do on the 1st except take down the greens?!  Since we came back from Papa-Nana's, Nathan hasn't been interested in having the Christmas lights on.  When we told him that we were taking the tree down, he was excited.  It didn't take too long to get the ornaments off and the rest of the items picked up.  He even decided to pack up the nativity scene (leaving out the camel, donkeys, and sheep!).  Have you gotten your Christmas decorations down yet?
