Good Morning!

Nathan was a little off last night (went to bed at 6:30!) and then at the 1:30 feeding decided he wanted to be up so sat in his crib talking for a bit before falling back asleep.  Then when I went to nurse him this morning, he was not interested and what little he ate, he spit up.  We're struggling a little with the crud, so hopefully, he'll get back on track for daycare and be okay.

Hey!

One of the things that Nathan says is "Hey!" or at least it sounds like it!  He'll call it out at different times, but it's pretty cute.  He keeps up a steady stream of conversation most of the time (unless he's tired) and looks for our response to him.

We've had to search for some long sleeved shirts to fit him now... Most of the wintery clothes I have for him are 12 mo. which is just too big.  Good thing it's half off day at Good Will this weekend!

New Trick

 Daddy taught Nathan how to clap!  He gets a big grin on his face and will clap away!

Also, we found a little basket to hold Nathan's toys and he enjoys tipping it over and pulling everything out.

Tags

Nathan loves tags!  I don't know what's so appealing, but if he can get his hands on it, they're in his mouth.  Poor Lovey wasn't getting much love -- just lots of slobber!

We've been struggling again with Nathan not sleeping at daycare.  On Tuesday night, he fell asleep at 5:30 and didn't wake up again until 5:30 the next morning!  This was because he had only one nap for about an hour in the morning.  So, we've asked for them to try a different plan.  He did a little better and took 2 naps on Wednesday, but neither were very long.  He usually does pretty well with us on the weekend, but I guess we're not providing as many distractions that he has at daycare.

(I think this is the last day for shorts!  We'll be back in the 60s over the weekend and into next week.)

Tigers in the World Series!

I dressed Nathan in navy blue, organge, & white so that he'd look like a Detroit Tiger.  I tried to be quick and get the picture because Nathan does NOT like wearing a hat.

Tool Time Talking

 

We had to change Nathan to his Titans onesy for the game (it was actually warm enough Sunday to let him wear it!) and the Titans won!

 

I promised a video of Nathan talking and I was finally sneaky enough to get it recorded.  Here he's saying, "Nananana!"  I tried to get the "Dadada" part recorded, but he was stuck on "Nananana".

Soccer Saturday

It was a beautiful, but chilly Saturday morning for us to enjoy a soccer game!

 Did I mention it was chilly?!

We had a good time... although at one point when the crowd cheered for a goal, it really upset Nathan.  Barry had to move away and help calm him down.  (Do you see the cute Nikes Nathan has on?  They are from his Uncle Tod & Aunt Michelle!)

We had the opportunity to take care of a friend's son on Saturday.  We had the soccer game in the morning and then hung out for most of the day.  He played outside, rode Barry's bike, painted a pumpkin, and watched a movie with us.  It was a great day!

Two for Friday?!

The cool weather has returned... for a couple days at least!  Nathan is wearing long sleeves and keeping that hood up on his coat for today's weather.  We're excited for being outside tomorrow and anticipate a full day of activities.  Want to join us?! :)

At Momma's Work

I had to work on Sunday and they were very gracious to allow Barry to have Nathan at work so that I could nurse him.  Barry took Nathan around the building for a couple of cool pictures.

One more day for shorts?

The high for today is in the high 70's so we decided to take a risk and wear these super cute shorts that Aunt Michelle gave Nathan.  First of all, they are plaid!  Secondly, they have fun pockets on them.  Nathan also liked the button on them (which I guess he doesn't usually have since he mostly wears elastic waist items).  We might get them in another time if the weather gets warm again like they say it will.

We finally had a chance to wear the Alabama pants that Nana gave Nathan.  I've been trying to find a shirt to go with it, but haven't been successful.  By the time I find one, the pants may be too short!  So, we just made do.

8 Months Old

I realized this morning that I had neglected to get our 8 month picture done.  So, here it is, about a week late!  It was great to be able to set him right down next to the turtle and not have to worry about him falling over or anything.  He's growing up! :)

Two Guests

Our good friend Judy is visiting in Tennessee this week and stopped by last night to see Nathan.  At first Nathan was a little leary of her, but he warmed up to her pretty quickly and played the whole 45 minutes that she was at our place.

When she comes, she stays with a widow friend that she has, Millie Anne.  Millie Anne goes to our church and we're getting to know her better.

It was a fun night!

Visiting Friends

Since we were already in Nashville on Saturday, on the way back home, we stopped by some friends' house to cheer up a sick friend!

 Nathan was jumping with Mrs. Mary!  She just had a kidney stone blasted and a stent put in.  Ouch!

Nathan got lots of love!

This is Mrs. Mary's daughter, Jordan.  She & her husband took care of Nathan when we went on a date last month.  She's expecting a baby boy who'll be right around 1 yr. younger than Nathan.

It was great to cheer up Mrs. Mary and talk baby stuff with Jordan. 

American Heart Association Walk

We were glad that the rain past by and the day was sunny for the American Heart Association Walk.  We went to support our friends - Troy & Sara Perry who lost their son 1 year ago after only living 28 days.

 It was a chilly day so we bundled Nathan up.  He had to have some toys to play with, though!

 We started off with me holding Nathan (as he was tired of the stroller since we were just standing around waiting for it to start).  Pretty quick though, we stopped and put him in.

 Do you see Little Bit's hat?  He fell asleep almost immediately and was covered up by the blanket.

Us and 10,000 of our closest friends (!) walked the 5K.  It took us just over an hour, but we kept up with the group of about 28.

Feeding Time!

Nathan is doing so well sitting up on his own, that we moved the chair he's been sitting in to eat, upright and we can now attach the tray.  We gave him some Cheerios to try and he just played with them.  We'll have to work on his pincher skills as he had a rough time picking them up. 

I tried to get some video because he was talking up a storm, but each time I held up the camera, he would stop and smile!  (I've trained him too good!)

I Love my Mommy!

Probably this is the last time to wear this outfit as the temps are changing with fall coming in.  He was doing such a good job sitting up and smiling!

Nathan's been fussy some and we're just hoping those teeth will come soon!

First Artwork

We decided to do a special drawing for my niece who has a birthday on Saturday.  Nathan would lay his hand down spread out, but just as I would trace around it, he'd scrunch it closed.  So, it doesn't look like he has 5 fingers on his hand!  Anyway, we tried several times with different colors.  Yeah!

Two for Tuesday

Nathan was just chilling out on the bed as I was getting the last couple things together this morning and he had a friend... Oreo!

 She walked all around him and he wasn't too sure of her...

The cats don't mind him touch them for a bit.  He doesn't hold his hand flat to pet them, but rather grabs at their fur.  But, if they want to be touched, he'll do it so they'll take the good with the bad!
