Pumpkin

Here's Nathan holding onto his pumpkin that we got at the patch on Sunday.  He was carrying it around all morning! :)

Happy Wednesday!

Two for Tuesday

Here's a fall family picture for you! :)
We were a tad warm, but it was a fun time at the pumpkin patch.

Sorry for the blurriness of the picture, but Nathan decided he needed both toast and a muffin for breakfast!  He didn't eat much on Sunday and then both Monday and Tuesday seemed to be making up for it. Breakfast is a favorite meal as there are lots of things that he likes to eat.

I tried a new recipe to use zucchini that I had - apple & zucchini muffins.  They turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

Pumpkin Patch Fun, Part 2

Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of us on the hay ride, but we did get to go for a 30 minute ride around the farm and pick a pumpkin.  It wasn't really a patch but just a place where they had them set for people to pick.
 A goat! :)
They also had piggies, but they stayed further back in the pen and we couldn't get a picture close to them.

Nathan l-o-v-e-d playing in these "popcorn".
It was a blast!

Pumpkin Patch Fun, Part 1

We decided to head to a pumpkin patch since Nathan calls all fruit/veggies with stems pumpkins!  Look at some of the fun things we did:

"No, I won't stay here for a picture"

"Okay, I'll stand here, but I won't look!"

Tractor Boy!

Nathan has an attraction to tractors.  I guess because of the whole barn-cow-horsie interest, tractors go along with that!

Therefore, when we went to Lowe's and all the tractors were outside of the entrance, of course we had to stop and climb on them!

Two for Tuesday

Here it is - the new car!

So I think that I had gotten up to 7 praises in the process of getting a new car.  Let me finish the story!  So, after receiving the check from the church family and the check from the salvage yard, we were empowered to look for a car.  We searched on-line for some choices and Barry checked out a dealership on Monday night where we thought a good candidate was.  Unfortunately, the agent wasn't very helpful and Barry went away frustrated.

So, praise #8, Barry was able to take a half day off work Tuesday (one week ago) and look at an additional vehicle we found on-line.  He went into this dealership and in 2 hours (praise #9) walked out with the keys to a car!  The agent we worked with was very helpful and even told Barry that there was a gentleman that was planning on coming that evening to look at the car.  So, had Barry not gotten off early, there may have been a chance that we wouldn't have gotten this one.

The final praise #10 that we have just realized is that the with the better gas mileage, our savings in gas is almost equal to the payment we'll be making on the car.

Thanks for your prayers for our family even not knowing the specific needs that we had.  We praise God for his goodness toward us.

Hiding

Nathan loves to play hide and seek.  If you say that Momma or Daddy are hiding, he'll go searching (sort of) and then enlist the other's help to find the missing person.  He can hide too, but it's hard to convince him to hide on his own.

Isn't he silly with one sock on and one sock off?!

[So, if you haven't seen a post from me in a while, it's because work has been crazy!  If you want to go back and catch up on the last two weeks, go here to see what we've been up to.]

Tractors

Here's a couple more pictures from the festival.

It's huge! :)
The tires are bigger than Daddy!
We got to ride in a wagon pulled by a tractor on our way to and from the festival.  It was pretty fun! :)  What a beautiful fall day!

Weou Weou!

We got to go up close and personal on a firetruck!  Nathan was very excited.

The local bank in our county hosts a variety of events at their main branch.  This event was called Oktoberfest and had all sorts of fall things.  We walked around a little bit to just see what was there and then focused our time on the emergency vehicles.

Pajama Day

The picture I picked for Two for Tuesday showed Nathan wearing these jammies, and here he is one year later still able to wear the jammies!  They were big on him last year, but the 18 month jammies weren't long enough last year.  They still are big in the waist!
It was Pajama Day at daycare today.

Awesome pictures, right?  Daddy did an awesome job smiling! :)

Jeep Saga, Part 2

Saying good-bye...

The next praise (#5) had to do with the transportation of the Jeep to a salvage yard -- free! -- and then we were able to get $500 for it (praise #7 since the other quote was $400).  It was sad to pull out all of our stuff from it and wonder what we were going to do next, but there just was no way we could consider trying to have work done on it to rebuild the transmission when it had so many miles on it.
So, Nathan's been going around and saying "Jeep broke!"

Sunday Fun

We are borrowing one of Barry's boss' vehicles as the boss is on vacation and the Jeep died on Tuesday. :(

Nathan had to check it all out and see what damage he could do to it!  We were so grateful that God helped us with all these details in the midst of the craziness.  On Tuesday, when Barry was heading to come get me after work, the Jeep died.  Yep, 270,000+ miles into our adventure, it just gave up and died.  He was able to get it back into his work's parking lot so that we didn't have to get it towed (praise #1).  Then I was able to talk to a friend at my work that not only let us borrow her car overnight (#2), but also had a car seat for Nathan (#3).  Then, as Barry was talking with co-workers to get a ride up closer to home, one of his bosses said that we could use his car for a WEEK (#4).  We transitioned to this vehicle on Thursday and then used it till the next Wednesday - WOW!

The next praise was with a gift we received from a couple at church who heard us mention the need and felt God directing them to give us a check (#5).  Did I mention that this couple had just met us minutes before?! Wow.

There's more to the story... We have to get a new car, right?!  Stay tuned!

Sweeping Fun

Poor thing!  We had to go to my work again today because I'm so far behind.  Since Nathan had a snack and was a little messy, we had to sweep it out.  Nathan thought the sweeper was fun and walked around and around with it, sweeping the room.

Should we rent him out?! :)

Friday Fun!

[Again, there's been a long gap since I've posted.  Forgive me!  Life has been too busy and this is one thing that has to go by the wayside in the craziness.]

Cow and horsie complete the picture, right?

The boys had to wear their Tiger shirts today to celebrate the Tigers heading into this season's first post-season game tonight versus the Baltimore Orioles.

Yay Tigers!

Rib-bit!

Need a giggle?

[He's saying "Rib-bit!" as he hops like a frog.]
