Two for Friday

Getting his SOCKS (another word he likes to say) and SHOES on
Loving on his buddy Monkey who's been a constant companion of late.

Since we missed two for Tuesday this week, I thought we'd fit it in today.  Nathan actually had to be woken up this morning!  Wow, right?! He was in a good mood and ready for the fun of Friday.

Sick Day

Nathan was still doing crummy on Tuesday so I stayed home with him on Wednesday.

Look what we woke up to:

STUCK! :)
It's his new word.
Everything that doesn't work just right is stuck.

While it's been crazy for me at work (which is why Barry stayed home last week), there was no avoiding it Wednesday.  Thankfully, my supervisor was supportive and I didn't feel too guilty for missing.  Nathan and I had a grand ole time and played a bunch together.
Rotavirus be gone!

Nathan Praying

I've had it on my mind to record Nathan's prayer before meal time.  I've tried a couple times to record it, but he gets camera shy.  This time I got it, but you'll have to peer through to see him! :)

Me & Momma

Couldn't resist this adoring look Nathan had toward his daddy!
 Cheese!
Awwww!

Blocks and Animals

Nathan and Daddy had lots of playing time together over the last week since Nathan was sick and Daddy stayed home with him 2 days.  They have gotten quite creative in playing.
"Ummm, I want that one, Daddy!"
"Okay, I'll look at you.  But no smiles."

Cars & Race Track

Since the Christmas tree is down, we had a little bit of room we had opened up for the tree available and Barry decided that now was the time to bring out this fun toy.
Cars, trucks, and so much fun!
We are so thankful for this gift which is from a roundabout way.  We got clothes, toys, and several other items that are mostly preschool age so Nathan's got things to grow into.  We stored them all in the garage and then have pulled things out here and there.

Between this and blocks, there are hours of fun between Daddy & Nathan!

CHEESE!

CHEESE!

I was packing my bag for work and picked up my camera to put it in, and Nathan says, "Cheese!"  So, I dutifully took his picture! :)

We knew it wasn't going to last.  After 3 blissful days of sleeping to 5:20ish, Nathan woke up on Thursday at 4:45am, and today was 4:30am.  Not only was he up early, but he was out of sorts the whole morning.  Yes, that means crying, crying, and more crying.  It's hard being a toddler! (Obviously this picture wasn't from this morning!)

Hope you're off to a great start to your weekend!

Throw Back Thursday

Don't you just want to eat him up?!

Two for Tuesday

Good morning! :)
(We were at daycare when the pictures were taken.)
I've got toast!  Yes - toast!  It's the best.

Guess who slept all the way through till 5:30am today?!!!!!!!  Woo hoo! :)  Although he woke up early on Monday morning, he did fall back to sleep on his own until 5:25ish.  We are ecstatic.  If he could only continue it through till the weekend.  Thanks for praying for us!

Momma!

 Ummm, Momma?
I forgot.

I started trying to track all the words (and even a few short sentences) that Nathan is saying and I can't keep the list going.  Just as I think I've got them all, he springs something else on me.  He still struggles with calling Barry Daddy -- it takes several reminders that he's "Dada" not Momma before he gets it right. He also still will yell or whine when he wants something instead of asking or saying Momma/Daddy.  One of these days, right? :)

Weekend Fun

Building blocks with Daddy
This is kind of a big deal since all Nathan would do before is knock them down!
Smiling while playing at the play place in the mall
Reading books with Papa

Yeah!  It's been a great weekend!  Nathan has loved having Nana & Papa here.  It's been lots of fun!

Football Friday

Mrs. Dana gave Nathan this football shirt (and pants) for Christmas.
It was actually warm enough to wear it today!
Since I couldn't get him to pose very well on his own, we had to take a picture together.
CHEESE!

We had taken this day off because we had intended to travel to Alabama (by way of Cleveland, TN) and stay with my parents, but they decided to come see us instead.  So, we dropped Nathan off at daycare for a half-day while we got groceries and errands done.  It was so weird not having him with us!  Then, we saved our Wal-mart trip for after we got Nathan so that he could run around some.  Fun times! :)

My shirt

All morning long he was making sounds for what was on his shirt -- a car and for Daddy's shirt -- a lion.  But when it comes to recording it, this is what you get:
Take 1
Take 2
Take 3

Two for Tuesday

Getting ready for the day... Can you see Nathan brushing his teeth?  Too fun.

It's hard to remember that he was so small and wasn't moving around like he does now.

Having Fun

Nathan's been climbing into things quite often and he's gotten now that he likes to sit in the basin we use to wash dishes.  He'll go and get it off the ledge where it's stored and then move it where he wants it.

We're in the midst of anticipation for the terrible storm they're forecasting for our area.  We're hoping it isn't too bad.

Coloring

Nathan has been doing a much better job at coloring!  He's been getting more colors on the paper and coloring harder on the page.  I had printed off these pages for Christmas "break", thinking that we'd get some paints for him to do on it, but I've not been successful in finding paints.  I *hope* to get some next weekend.

Freezing Friday

It's too cold today for Football Friday!  We had to bundle up in layers to handle the cold.  It was 13 degrees when we left this morning!

We hadn't pulled out this heavy winter coat (not because it hasn't been cold) because it's too tough to get the straps on the car seat to hold him in correctly.  So, we've been having him wear his blue fleece coat and then putting a blanket on him in the Jeep.  But, today it was just too cold.  So we pulled out the heavy winter coat, the fun red fleece hat and the too big black mittens so Nathan could stay warm.  They're predicting that Monday & Tuesday are going to have highs in the teens -- yes, highs in the teens!  Craziness!

Hope you'll stay warm today too!

Little Rocker

I wished I had been a little quicker as Nathan was dancing around a little with the guitar previous to me videoing him.  But, isn't he funny?!  Cheese to you, too, Baby!

We partied all the way till 9:30 Tuesday night (actually I fell asleep on the couch about an hour earlier) and went to bed never even seeing or hearing fire works.  Nathan woke up at 4:15am and we let him come in bed with us till he awoke again at 6am.  Don't you wish you could have been part of the fun?!  We had a quiet day.  Happy New Year to us and you!
