Zachary Arrived!

Who knew July 8 was going to be a busy day for babies?  We arrived at the hospital at 5:15am, but even then it was at least a half hour wait to get processed at the registration desk.  My OB wanted to deliver before 7:30am, but we were not able to because of the delays.  Then the anesthesiologist had problems with my spinal block. Once the doctor started working, she had to get through scar tissue so there was another delay.

Therefore, Zachary Alan arrived at 8:16am, weighing in at 7 pounds 11 ounces even though he was born 2 weeks earlier than his big brother who was 7 lb, 7 oz.

He had quite the lusty cry and there was a little concern because the lungs weren't clearing out as quickly as they wanted.  But, it turned out okay and the doctor had to spend some time getting me put all back together.

We went into a recovery area for a bit of time and this is where Nathan met Baby Zachy.  The expression on Nathan's face was priceless though.  It was if to say "This is what we've been waiting for?"

I'm so grateful for this picture my mom snapped of the four of us. My parents watched Nathan for us over the hospital stay which was awesome!

Last Day of Pregnancy

Here it is, the last day that I'll be pregnant.  Whew!  It's been a very long haul - especially the last two weeks as I've been preparing responsibilities for work during my maternity leave.  Since I had trouble with my blood pressure in the last month or so of pregnancy with Nathan, I've been having to take it a couple times a day to track whether it was going higher.  Although it was getting higher, it wasn't terribly high and the doctor gave me the okay to keep the scheduled C-section on track.

With frustration levels high, Barry & I decided that I needed to take Tuesday off from work and go ahead with my maternity leave. I tried to relax and get the last few things done before our little one would be here.  I'm not sure what God's got in store for us, but we're praying for a smooth transition from our family of three to a family of four.
