Playing Rummikub

My friend Judy got me hooked on Rummikub. In the last couple months that they lived here, we played together a bunch of times. She had texted me the other day that she was doing a marathon night of playing with her sister and it just got me thinking.

We were at the store on Saturday and Barry decided that he would get me the game. We played two games on Sunday. Fun times!

So, my boss got a new job... Special Assistant to the Executive Director! Woo hoo! Now, we've been teasing him, because what does "special" mean?

Dictionary.com gives a definition of, "being a particular one" and has a synonym of "peculiar." Can we use this to describe Rick? :) Well... I think that "distinctive" or "unique" would be a good definition for him since he will be taking over a variety of responsibilities.

Now we just have to see if I can get the job to work for him.

Roses

I think that these are Knock Out Roses... found at my office building by the back entrance. I've been wanting to have a picture with them since I started working here (about 4 1/2 yrs. now) and I finally got a chance. I went in to work on Saturday and had a chance to get a picture.

Yard Work

Today is the fourth time that I've mowed! It's just barely a month after spring has "sprung" and the grass is green and growing.

So, it was finally time... Time to pull out the weed whip and attack the edges of the yard and trim things up. You can see all over my legs are bits and pieces of the plants, but also I got cut up too. There was a casualty as I sort of knocked down one of the irises. Oops.

It was nice to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Ginger

Did she really think that we couldn't see her? This isn't the first time she's done this and won't probably be the last. She's so big that it's very unrealistic that she could make it under the carpet and we would "miss" her. But, I guess it's good for a laugh!

TGIF!

Visiting Bicentennial Mall

While we were in downtown Nashville on Saturday, we went to the Bicentennial Mall - which incidentally is a park that was created to celebrate Tennessee's 200 year birthday. We saw lots of people walking and running so I imagine that it's a place that people exercise at.

It was pretty cool to walk around the park and see the various of things that they had about the state and the history of it. There was a wall all along one side that had points in Tennessee's history cut into it. There was also a WWII memorial and a very cool bell display with 96 bells for each of the counties. We learned a lot.

The Easter bunny...

The Easter bunny never made it to our house :(. I was so sad.

But, Lover-Man to the rescue!!!! Not only did he get some Easter candy, but he got it on sale!!!
