Father's Day Cards

I used some fishing stickers to embellish this card. It's 5"x7".

Get Well Cards

I liked how I looped the ribbon through the butterfly on this card. SOLD

I mimicked the pattern on the paper with the flower die cuts that I put on the paper.

I wrote Joshua 1:9 around the shapes there: "...be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you..." SOLD

These are for my co-worker who had double knee replacement surgery last week. We're doing a collection of cards to send out to her so I made up a bunch to sell. I think that she should enjoy these!

Bridal Gift

My sister-in-law requested that I make up some thank you cards for her sister who is getting married in July. Her colors are black, red, and white. This is what I came up with:

I had 4 different papers. The back paper was black with silver stripes. I tore the edges of the red paper and then put the red roses on top of that. I wrote with my calligraphy pen Thank you! and then used black metallic dots to make it look like they were holding the piece on. I crossed some red ribbon underneath.

Here are all 8 along with the bag that I put them in. Hope she likes them!

Sausage-Egg-Cheese Deal

I had this sausage-cheese-crescent roll thing last Friday as someone had brought it in to share. I decided it was so yummy that I was going to try and make it myself. One of the other ladies wondered how it would be to add egg in so I tried it! Here's what I came up with:

I started by preheating the oven at 375. I am using a Pampered Chef pan, but you probably would want to spray it if it was just a normal pan.

I opened up a can of crescent rolls and spread them out -- smoothly out the seams so that it would be one piece. You could make a long one as well, but I thought 2 would be good (one for me & one for my husband).

I cut the about 2 inches on each side with a knife (to wrap over the filling at the end) and laid some cheese down to help hold it all together.

I browned 1/2 pound of sausage and tried to make sure that the pieces were smaller so that they would fit well inside the crescent rolls.

I took out the sausage and immediately put my scrambled egg mixture in (3 eggs & some milk). I made this up till it was almost done -- still a little wet looking.

I added the sausage to the eggs.

I spooned out the egg/sausage mixture on top of the crescent roll & put more cheese on top.

I criss-crossed the edges to cover it all. I was thinking about adding a bit of butter on the top, but... I think it turned out just fine!

They cooked for 20 minutes and turned out just wonderfully! We didn't quite eat all of them so I have some for lunch another day.

Mother's Day Cards

To celebrate Mother's Day, I made up some cards that I'm trying to sell:

Cards for my family

Obviously, this is a Mother's Day card! I used a design that I had made for my friend at work and adapted it for this card. I painted the chipboard a pink color to match the paper. Then I used two ribbons -- yellow & pink organdy. I wrote in calligraphy Happy Mother's Day and printed a portion of Proverbs 31:28, "Her children stand and bless her."

This card was also for my mom. She just got her Alabama Teaching Certification! Her name starts with a g (Georgia) so I used chipboard that I painted black. I made a design with colors that are already in the paper (gray, pink, burgundy, white, and green). I also used pink organdy ribbon across the middle. Inside said congratulations on your certification.

My brother and his wife just had their second child on April 24. This card has 4 different papers, white alphabet stickers, and a star sticker. I wrote inside Psalm 127:3 - Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.

Bunch of Birthday Cards

I'm sure that you've been in suspense, wondering what has been going on, but I have been pretty busy making cards and just haven't taken the time to post these. I've been working on a bunch of Mother's Day cards as well and I'll post them later.

I used 3 papers for this one and then a bit of pink organdy ribbon and a chipboard letter a. I hand-wrote happy birthday to you! along the edge of the brown triangle. This card is for my co-worker who's name starts with an a! :)

This card only uses 2 papers, a piece of blue ribbon and some white alphabet stickers. Inside I said something like, All these words and more describe a special sister like you. Hope you have a happy birthday! I think the colors are funky and bright and didn't require much additional embellishments to look nice.

This card used 3 different papers, black ribbon, 3 pink sparklies, and a M sticker. You'll see the paper again with another birthday card and I like how the colors pop. This card is for my sister.

I used 5 different papers for this card, some pink organdy ribbon, and some purple alphabet stickers. I smeared the edges of the cream paper in a purple ink pad. It worked okay here, but I've had better success in other instances doing that. My friend Abby showed me that technique! This card was for another co-worker.

This card was a bit more complex. I decided to follow the template found at CPS. I used 6 different papers with this one! The background paper was also decorated on the reverse side (the cream with brown polka dots) and then I used a chipboard flower which I covered with some other paper. I simply wrote Happy Birthday! I wanted to put a couple sparklies on it, but since it was going through the mail, I was a little skeptical about it. This one is for my aunt.

All in all, I think these turned out pretty decently. I continue to use Mono Multi glue which is just about the handies stuff. The only problem that I've had is that when it gets on my workspace, I end up finding little balls of it stuck on things (namely the back of cards!). It sticks so well that I wash my hands often while working so that I'm not sticking to other things. I need to find a no-stick mat -- if they have such a thing!
