Cleaned Up

At this time, one of Nathan's questions asked almost daily is "Bath night?" And after asking if it's bath night for him, he'll ask if Zach is having a bath too.  Nathan will pull over the tub to the kitchen sink and then we'll get the bath going.  He will occasionally help me wash Zach up, but mostly just likes to play in the water.

Zach doesn't seem to mind the water and does a great job.  Here he is all cleaned up and ready for bed!

God's Gift

Believe it or not, but this is a newborn outfit! I've tried before to have him wear it, but it was just so large.  It's pretty cool to know that Zach is God's gift to us.

Remember what Zachary means?  Remembered by God.  He sure did remember us and give a wonderful gift!

Smiles for Daddy

Barry has been trying and trying to get Zach to smile at him for a while and has had little success.  But he keeps trying and as you can see, I caught them!

Little Brother

Isn't this some fun Friday cuteness?!

Zach has put on some weight in the last little bit - can you tell how big his belly is?! Since he's been in the lower percentile for his weight due to reflux, I'm encouraged that he looks like he's rebounding.  Hurray!

I Love You

With my phone, I was able to capture these pictures in rapid succession!  Isn't he just a cutie pie?!

Chase from Paw Patrol

Don't you think that a two month old would already love Paw Patrol?  According to Nathan, Zachary loves Paw Patrol. :)  Nathan has this dog that looks similar to Chase and he thought that Zach would like to hold onto him.

Fabulous Friday!

Nathan got to wear pjs today for Movie & Jammies day, but that didn't affect the rest of us!  Zachy is showing off a shirt that Nathan wore [see bottom picture] and getting some extra love!

Brothers

I just have to marvel at how well the boys are getting along.  Of course, Zach has no idea that he's caused problems for Nathan, but it's just so neat to have them be together.  Nathan frequently wants to know if Zach is happy, or if he's crying he's quick to tell me or Barry to help.

On a side note, it's interesting to me how different the boys are with things they prefer.  This gown/pajamas that Zach has on, we kept Nathan in for months.  Zach hates them.  I have a whole drawer of these gowns and they just sit there. Crazy.

Go, Lions!!!

 Isn't it interesting how you can find different teams' apparel in totally unusual locations?  We found a set of 3 onesies at one of the local shops for a fairly reasonable price (cheaper than if we would have gotten them in Michigan, to be sure).  So, Zach is decked out in Lions gear - maybe this will help them win a game?!

Brothers

Nathan is just in awe of his little brother.  He definitely has had his struggles with letting go some of the attention that would have been solely focused on him, but he loves his brother and is doing better showing his love.

2 Months - Official

Zach had his 2 month appointment and is coming in at 9 pounds, 8 ounces and 22 inches long.  Poor thing had to get shots, but he did pretty well with it.  

I think it was too late in the day to get the pictures, but I was determined! Oh well.

Cutey!

Nathan picked out this shirt for Zach before his birth because of Nathan's love of dinosaurs.  Although I didn't get a picture of them together, Nathan had his dinosaur shirt on too!

First Day

We came back a day early to get our acts together before the first day of me back to work and the first day for Zach to go to daycare.  Do you think Zach had a clue?!  Nathan was so proud of him.

Zach's in the baby house which is a separate house from the one that Nathan is in.  So, although they're in the same place, they won't see each other during the day.

UPDATE:  We survived!!

Family Pictures

My sister worked with us to get some family pictures.  There were a few cute ones that I'm sure we'll blow up and put on the wall, but I couldn't resist sharing this one:

Isn't it hilarious? Barry & I are trying our darnedest to focus on the camera and be cute, but Nathan is looking up at who knows what and Zach has just had enough. There might be some significance that we can read between the lines on that one!

Labor Day Weekend

We finished out the end of my time "off" by heading to my sister's and hanging out with the family for the weekend.  My parents also came by and we got to share Zach with them again.  It was cool to be able to see them so close to the last visit and Nathan was especially counting down the days.

Last Days

It's hard to believe that this was the last day of my maternity leave!  Wow!  Eight weeks have gone by and I've been home with both the boys for just over 5 weeks.  Nathan had intended to be back in daycare for this week, but Wednesday morning he had a fever which then continued through the rest of the week.  Probably he could have gone back Friday, but at this point, we just kept him home.

It has sure been a challenge getting a handle of life with two children.  I would say that exhaustion has been much greater and we're concerned how it'll be when I'm back to work.  But, we've seen some progress with Zach's sleeping at night and hope that it'll continue.  Nathan is doing better with Zach and we're trying our best to make special times for him too.

We'd continue to appreciate your prayers as we transition into "normal" life.

Our little guy is showing his stuff by giving a little smile!  His real first smile was last Thursday, August 27, but of course, I didn't get a picture of that.  What a cutey!
