One Year Stats

We had the opportunity to have Zach's one year pictures taken by a family friend at a local park. Didn't he do a great job?! (Kevin Masch)

Zachy loves to stand and did so great holding on the edge of the rocker.

12 Month Stats

20 pounds 13 ounces (barely 1 pound more)

28.75 inches (up almost 2 inches)

Since June was such a rough month for Zachy, he hasn't quite rebounded to the 21+ pounds he was on June 6, but since his growth curve is still in the 50th percentile, the doctor said he was doing okay.  Hopefully he'll continue to have a good appetite like he's had this week.

I know you're not supposed to compare, but after taking the lead on Nathan at the 9 month check-up, he's fallen way behind at 1.  Nathan was 22 pounds and 31 1/2 inches tall.

Officially 12 Months Old

It was time for the official monthly picture with monkey. Of course it's challenging since Zach is so mobile and wants to put everything in his mouth.

It's hard to believe that we made it. At first you just can hardly think you're going to make it a day, let alone a week, month, a year. I feel like we lost some time when Barry was out of commission and we were trying to survive each day. But, there is no denying that God brought us through. Zach is such a great baby and we can only wonder what God's got in store for him.

Party Time!

We had Zachy's party the next day.  We had asked everyone to write a letter and give a picture so that we can make a memory book like we did for Nathan.  Like Nathan's 1st birthday, we did the theme the same as his baby items.  So, Zach had monkeys!!!

 I just made up 12 since it was a bunch of work and there was no easy way to store them.

 Zach was concentrating, but it was a combined effort from Nathan and Daddy to blow out the candle.

He didn't get too messy (it was just on his hands and face), but ate up every single bite!

Walker Fun

Zach did a great job of quickly picking up how to push the walker and move his legs. He's still working on it, but practicing pretty well.  He likes to sit and play with the stuff on the front too. Since he loves to stand up and move around, we think this will help him get mobile.

Opening Gifts

We tried really quick to get a picture of Zach with his gifts, but we got this interesting one and then the next where he wouldn't turn away from them

He got a box in the mail from the other Stevens and enjoyed opening and pulling out the tissue paper.

He loved the walker! Check back tomorrow for a short video of him walking.

Zach Turned One!!!

Our little guy is now ONE!!!

He really has no clue what this is all about, but Nathan is excited and knows what it's all about (presents, right?!).

It won't be till next week that I can share all his stats, but for now we'll just enjoy comparing current pictures to first born pictures :)

There's our cutie, sporting his submarine shirt and stats. We went through a rough spot at first as he had a hard time gaining weight, but overall he's grown like a weed and is getting into many things.  This has been a rough month with illnesses and we hope that this will keep us for a bit.
